Before arriving in Amman, I spent 10 months in DC studying Arabic at The Foreign Service Language Institute in Rosslyn, VA. Long term language study is such a privilege– not just because I get a chance to become proficient in another language (studied both Spanish and Portuguese at FSI), but I get a chance to reconnect with friends, family, colleagues and Country.

A few highlights from my time in DC:

Volunteering with PAL (People Animals Love) at The Armed Services Retirement Home
The Best PAL Emotional Support Dog Ever Makes a New Friend
Wanderlust Festival With My Favorite Yogis

Crossing the Finish Line at The Rock N Roll Half Marathon
Hiking and Picnic in Rock Creek Park

Goodies from Glen’s Garden Market in Dupont Circle

Showtime at The Kennedy Center with my Former CBS4 Colleague
Game of Thrones Pop Up Bar
